Birth Worker Burnout & Trauma

I see you doulas, midwives, nurses, OBs, and birth workers. You are overworked and emotionally exhausted. You’re doing the best you can within a system that often does not allow the time, space, and support for healing from vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue. You are burnt out, and you can’t keep going like this.

Your hearts are big. Your efforts are heroic. And caring so much makes you vulnerable to absorbing the hurt, causing heartbreak and suffering, anxiety and exaggerated startle response, or numbing out just to get through the day. Your presence and compassion is so important for helping people have an empowered birth. You don’t have to live like this; stuck in the memories, ruminating about if you did the right thing, in constant fear of it happening again, or just going through the motions of life.

If you are looking for support from someone who “gets it,” I offer therapy and birth story processing for birth workers informed by my experience as a hospital-based birth doula. Healing is possible.

I offer a free consult to see if you feel like working together is the right fit. Click contact me to set up a time to talk. Birth matters. Thank you for doing this important work. ❤
